Back to our customers. It’s hard to think of an industry, market or corner of the world where we haven’t supplied hydraulics and designed systems. Hydraulics probably wouldn’t be your first thought if you were standing in a beautiful lavender field, but a new customer contacted the team looking for hydraulic systems design support to build a new piece of equipment – a ‘lavender lifter’ to de-head and harvest the flowers using bristle heads, much like a road sweeper, albeit much more gently! The team worked through the design and then quoted for a hydraulic motor with 50cc end ports, a 16mm flange and a 3/8″ BSP priority flow divider. It was dispatched the very next day.
Hydraulics are commonly found in marine and offshore equipment, and a well-established overseas hydraulic engineering company approached the team looking for a radial piston motor to replace an existing unit used on a marine winch system. The original motor was obsolete, but it also had a non-standard shaft.
Working from photos taken of the original unit, Hydraulics Online identified that an Italgroup (IAMD series) radial piston motor with a bespoke shaft was perfect for the job.
