Parker Gear Pump

Even before becoming part of the Parker Group, Commercial Hydraulics was thought of as one of the world’s biggest names in gear pump manufacturing. And now with the Parker name behind them, Commercial Hydraulics continue to lead the way – their gear pump series regularly referred to as the industry standard against which others are measured.

Parker Commercial Hydraulics

A Parker gear pump is still made to the same demanding standards set by Commercial Hydraulics – the only difference being that the old Commercial product codes are now preceded by “PG” (for Parker Group).

The Parker gear pump / motor range comprises:

Parker gear pump P30 P50 P75

  • P30, M30, PGP30, PGM30, P31, M31, PGP031, PGM031;
  • P50, M50, PGP050, PGM050, P51, M51, PGP051, PGM051;
  • P75, PGP075, PGM075, P76, PGP076, PGM076.

Designed for high-torque applications, the P30, P31, P50, P51, P75, P76 Parker gear pump series offer a wide variety of drive shafts, with unique pressure-balanced thrust plates contributing to optimal performance. Manufactured with hi-tensile grey iron, such a Parker gear pump can be supplied in single and multiple section configurations, with a choice of (relief) valve options.

Parker Gear Pump P315 P330 P350 P365

  • P315, PGP315, PGM315;
  • P330, PGP330, PGM330;
  • P350, PGP350, PGM350;
  • P365, PGP365, PGM365.

The PGP / PGM 300 Parker gear pump series delivers superior reliability and performance in even the most demanding of heavy-duty hydraulic applications. The three-piece cast iron construction with large area, low-friction bushings means that this Parker gear pump series provides strength, high efficiency, and long life in severe operating environments. The design includes an advanced thrust plate and seal configuration, which optimizes performance even in high temperature and low viscosity conditions.

Parker gear pump P76And in the meantime we’ll close with this unsolicited “thank you” from a new customer, received after they took delivery of their Parker P76 gear pump. They have since ordered another to hold as a spare:

Dear Ian,

I write to thank you for your assistance in delivering a replacement Parker tandem pump for our vessel “Adeline”.  The pump was installed on the main engine reduction gearbox this morning and has been successfully tested in all operating modes.  Your help was much appreciated, good weekend to you and your team.

Testimonial: Maritime Services

It’s true when we say it’s hard to think of an industry or market that we haven’t been involved in… On land, in the air or at sea!

After providing a Dowty equivalent pump to our customer, a supplier for marine hydraulics with an urgent order in the busy period before Christmas, we were delighted that our efforts were rewarded with a lovely thank you email!

All orders for ships become urgent in the run up to Christmas so once I knew you had the order packed and ready to go, I came over to collect them and pass them onto our freight forwarders who were tasked with getting the pumps out to Egypt.

We were in plenty of time and once collected from us I relaxed – ‘Job Done’! But I had not reckoned with the Christmas rush and we learned after Boxing Day that our consignment had been offloaded at Heathrow on Christmas Eve with a 3 day delay on the shipment. Normally consignments for ships are respected and fly as scheduled, however I gather it was the weight/shape of our pumps that caused the problem. Anyway, all’s well that ends well, and our pumps did make the vessel’s schedule.

Normally we only get involved with hydraulics when they are attached to our own equipment such as fin stabilisers, but this was an exception to the rule and as always try to say ‘Yes’ to our customers, coupled with the speed of your response, it was a winner all round.

We will consider whether there might be other opportunities for our mutual benefits.

Whether you work with a large PLC or in your own small business, you can be sure that our team always pull out all the stops to source hydraulic equipment or complete hydraulic system design work on time and to budget – no matter how challenging that may be. For more information on the hydraulic pumps we supply, click here or you can read more testimonials here and see more of what our customers are saying about us.

Literally.

Some haven’t any knowledge about hydraulics, or only ever need hydraulics “once in a blue moon”, while others are passionate about hydraulic engineering and are looking for regular cost-effective and reliable supplies of known equipment.

We know our stuff…

Hydraulics Online have always been fast, friendly and competitive but we value them most because they are innovative and can find answers to the really tough problems.

2 bsi-iso-9001So, our technical team enjoy a reputation for consistently providing practical, trusted advice and solutions as far as hydraulics are concerned. That’s only right isn’t it? But, our ISO 9001 accreditation means that we walk the hydraulics talk too… and do what we say we’re going to do  – when we say we’re going to do it!

Can I thank you for your speedy service. The rig is operational and we will now meet tomorrow’s delivery requirement.

There are plenty more testimonials where these came from… But don’t just take our word for it – click through and see for yourself.

Back to our customers. It’s hard to think of an industry, market or corner of the world where we haven’t supplied hydraulics and designed systems. Our work to date spans: Agricultural and forestry, energy and power generation, other hydraulic engineering “specialists”, manufacturing, industry and mining, marine and offshore, mobile hydraulicsoriginal equipment manufacturers and other specialist applications e.g. ATEX

lavenderHydraulics probably wouldn’t be your first thought if you were standing in a beautiful lavender field, but a new customer contacted the team looking for hydraulic systems design support to build a new piece of equipment – a ‘lavender lifter’ to de-head and harvest the flowers using bristle heads, much like a road sweeper, albeit much more gently! The team worked through the design and then quoted for a hydraulic motor with 50cc end ports, a 16mm flange and a 3/8″ BSP priority flow divider. It was dispatched the very next day.

Marine-Winch

Hydraulics are commonly found in marine and offshore equipment, and a well-established overseas hydraulic engineering company approached the team looking for a radial piston motor to replace an existing unit used on a marine winch system.  The original motor was obsolete, but it also had a non-standard shaft.

Marine WinchWorking from photos taken of the original unit, Hydraulics Online identified that an Italgroup (IAMD series) radial piston motor with a bespoke shaft was perfect for the job.

“Just to let you know how impressed I am with your service… Not only did you recognise the motor I needed where others had failed to do so, but you were able to despatch a replacement to me that same day.”

So, whoever you are, whatever you do (even if you’re Concorde, yes Concorde!) if you need hydraulics you’ve come to the right place!

Parker Denison Electrohydraulic Stroker

“… You guys really helped me out last time I was stuck” was how an email from a returning customer began recently, and it continued “… I apologise for the lack of available details.”

The customer in question was a worldwide marine engineering and underwater services provider, the email having been written by the Ship Superintendent of a vessel that was “struggling as one of her Linear Cable Engines has developed a serious problem and is now out of action.”

electrohydraulic stroker 2Our technical team have a reputation for consistently providing practical, trusted advice and solutions backed up by an unswerving ability to source both the routine and obscure – even against the most challenging of timescales and budgets. In this particular case, within 24 hours the team had worked with the limited information available to successfully identify and quote for the equipment needed – a Denison Hydraulics electrohydraulic stroker (S23-12413-0, EHS 5A* with deadband, pictured here) to suit a Denison Gold Cup pump, type P14P.

The customer issued their purchase order and the rest, as they say is history!

Denison Gold Cup hydrostatic transmission pumps are variable displacement axial piston pumps offering an unparalleled rugged design – perfect for a life at sea!  Rated to 5000 PSI (350 BAR) continuous pressure and continuous duty, the Gold Cup design has the unique feature of an internal servo/replenish and the ability to utilize system over pressure to directly control the stroking chambers.

The Gold Cup model series is available as:

  • open circuit, variable displacement models: Goldcup P6V, P7V, P8V, P11V and P14V;
  • closed circuit variable displacement models: Goldcup P series pumps and Goldcup R series tandem pumps: P6P/R, P7P/R, P8P/R, P11P/R, P14P/R, P24P/R and P30P/R.

We are confident that we can earn the privilege of being “your one-stop hydraulics resource” if you give us the chance to compete… whether you work within a major PLC, run your own small business or are even stranded on a vessel out at sea! But don’t just take our word for it, take a look at some of our testimonials to see what our customers have to say about us.

Case Study: Commercial Hydraulics Pumps

At Hydraulics Online we have extensive, competitive access to both leading and lesser-known hydraulic pump manufacturers from all other the world – including Commercial Hydraulics pumps.

Having peace of mind is key when buying any hydraulic equipment; you want to be able to “fit and forget”. We also understand that sometimes you actually needed something “yesterday” and that your budget is always being asked to stretch that… little… bit… further.

That’s why we offer a range of completely interchangeable, direct equivalents to the Commercial Hydraulics pumps range. Built and tested here in the UK, you can be assured of a quality product that can more often than not be dispatched within 24 hours. So, even if you’re literally stranded on a vessel out at sea, we can take the pressure!

Commercial Hydraulics Pump 2 Staying close to home, a company who supply spare parts for the mining, construction, cement, oil and gas industries enquired about a direct equivalent to a Commercial Hydraulics P51 pump. They had bought a similar pump from us about six weeks previously and their customer was more than happy with its performance. Like the original Commercial Hydraulics P51 pump, the direct equivalent (pictured here) has a priority flow divider.

Other features of the Commercial Hydraulics P51 pump (and the equivalent) include: speeds of up to 2400 rpm and pressures up to 3000 psi (206 bar) and output flows reaching up to 66 gpm (250 lpm). The PGM050 (and equivalent) pump has an average torque of up to 1720 in-lbs (2016 kg-cm) at 2000 psi (137 bar) while the PGM051 (and equiavlent) pump has an average torque of up to 2250 in-lbs (2592 kg-cm) at 2500 psi (172 bar). Optional priority, two-speed, and unloader valves are available.

Commercial Hydraulics Pumps 2Travelling a little further afield, a large offshore oil company recently enquired about a Commercial Hydraulics P365 / P330 tandem pump; there was no time to spare as there was a breakdown on one of their accommodation rigs. The Commercial Hydraulics pumps were on an 18 week lead time, not the news the customer wanted to hear, however, we were able to offer a direct equivalent (pictured here) from stock… a quality product, built and tested here in the UK. The customer placed their order instantly and the pump was dispatched within 24 hours.

Some of the features of the Commercial Hydraulics P365 pump (and the direct equivalent) include: speeds ranging between 900-2400 rpm and fluid displacements up to 9.0 cir (147.5 ccr). It maintains a continuous pressure up to 3500 psi (241 bar) with intermittent pressures up to 4000 psi (275 bar) and has output flows of up to 90.7 gpm (343.3 lpm). The motor torque ranges from 1705-3740 in-lbs (1964-4308 kg-cm) at 2400 rpm. It also includes high strength, one-piece integral shafts.

Features of the Commercial Hydraulics P330 pump features include: Speeds from 900-3000 rpm; Fluid displacements up to 3.94 cir (64.6 ccr); continuous pressures up to 3500 psi (241 bar) with intermittent pressures up to 4000 psi (275 bar); Output flows up to 50.1 gpm (190 lpm); Motor torque from 980-1685 in-lbs (1129-1941 kg-cm) at 3000 rpm; High strength one-piece integral shafts.

Commercial Hydraulic Pump 3So, one last example… a UK-based ship maintenance and supplies company enquired after a Commercial Hydraulics P365 Series pump. After quoting on the original Commercial Hydraulics P365 unit, we also offered to quote on the “direct equivalent” with its keener cost and lead time.

Again, the P365 equivalent (pictured here) is a quality, British product offering the same features and performance as the original Commercial Hydraulics pump; it reaches speeds between 900-2400 rpm and has fluid displacements up to 9.0 cir (147.5 ccr) and maintains a continuous pressure of up to 3500 psi (241 bar) with intermittent pressures up to 4000 psi (275 bar). Output flows reach up to 90.7 gpm (343.3 lpm) and motor torque ranges between 1705-3740 in-lbs (1964-4308 kg-cm) at 2400 rpm. This pump also includes a high strength one-piece integral shaft. Needless to say, the customer ordered the direct equivalent and took delivery sooner than he had hoped possible, with money to spare!

Click here if you would like to find out more about the Commercial Hydraulics pumps range, or contact one of the team if you would like to find more about the time and cost savings you can make by taking a direct equivalent instead. The choice is yours.

We can supply the following Commercial Hydraulics pumps and our British-built direct equivalents: P30, M30, PGP030, PGM030,  P31, M31, PGP031, PGM031, P50, M50, PGP050, PGM050, P51, M51, PGP051, PGM051, P75, PGP075, PGM075, P76, PGP076, PGM076, P315, PGP315, PGM315, P330, PGP330, PGM330, P350, PGP350, PGM350, P365, PGP365 and not forgetting the PGM 365.

Earlier this week, a large offshore oil company enquired about a Commercial Hydraulics P365/P330 tandem pump – they were in a breakdown situation on one of their accommodation rigs. The Commercial pumps were on an 18 week lead time, not the news the customer wanted to hear, but the good news was that we could offer a direct equivalent (pictured here)  from stock… a quality product, built and tested here in the UK. The customer placed their order immediately. The pump was built, tested and ready for dispatch within 24 hours… to be transported by helicopter to its new home on the accommodation rig the following day.

Case Study: Leading Global Energy Company

Hydraulics Online were contacted late on 17th June with a requirement for a number of Denison proportional amplifier cards; they were needed for one of our customer’s exploration rigs in Angola and, as is often the case, it was urgent… there was no time to spare.

The customer was quoted the following morning, the lead time being 8-10 weeks. The customer placed their order on 20th June, acknowledging that their target date for delivery (4th July) had been somewhat ambitious and would not be achieved. Or so it had it seemed.

Keen to improve on delivery if at all possible, the sales team approached a potential alternative supplier and successfully negotiated expedited delivery of the goods within the same week. Cue one happy customer who took delivery of their Denison proportional amplifier cards on 30th June… 4 days ahead of their original schedule!
